NOW HIRING AUDIENCE SURVEY COLLECTION MANAGER

Overview
The Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council (SEMAC) is hiring for two temporary part-time positions to begin immediately and continue through the end of the calendar year.  These independent contractors will follow the instructions and use the materials provided by Americans for the Arts (AFTA) to collect a minimum of 400 surveys from audience members at arts events throughout the 11 counties in Southeast Minnesota (Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha, and Winona.)  These surveys will be used by AFTA and Minnesota Citizens for the Arts (MCA) in their sixth study of the economic and social impact of the arts throughout the state.  This is an ideal position for a college student or someone with a flexible schedule who is available evenings and weekends.  A strong love of the arts or interest in economic development is a plus.

Attend events to collect surveys and coordinate with arts organizations to facilitate their collection of additional surveys. Provide these partners with the materials and training they need to accomplish the task.

Position Information
SEMAC offers a stipend of $25 per hour for up to 80 hours.  In addition, mileage to attend events will be reimbursed at the federal rate of $.67 per mile and SEMAC will pay admission to ticketed events.  The contractors set their own schedules, although the majority of events will take place on evenings and weekends.

Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a reliable form of transportation to travel to venues throughout all 11 counties. No previous experience collecting surveys is required.  The ideal candidate will be outgoing and organized, have strong communication skills, and have experience successfully interacting with a broad range of people.
