On November 15, 2022, the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council (SEMAC) awarded fifty arts programming grants for a total of $347,185 in funding to applicants throughout southeastern Minnesota.  This included 26 Legacy grants for $227,110, sixteen Programming Grants for $84,700, seven Small Towns/Rural Areas grants for $34,210, and one School Residency grant for $1,165.

  • Kasson-Mantorville Public Schools received a $5,000 Small Towns/Rural Areas grant for The Folsom Prison Experience in Kasson.
  • Mantorville Theatre Company received a $5,000 Small Towns/Rural Areas grant for Completion of Enhanced Safety and Portability of Audience Seating.

Fillmore County

  • Chatfield Brass Band received a $4,690 Small Towns/Rural Areas grant for Chatfield Music in the Park Summer Concerts.
  • Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center received a $5,000 Legacy grant for Stringwood Chamber Music on the Hill in Lanesboro.
  • Friends of Peterson received a $10,000 Legacy grant for Gammel Dag – A Scandinavian Midsummer Celebration.

Goodhue County

  • Red Wing Art Association received a $10,000 Legacy grant for Poet Artist Collaboration 2023.
  • Red Wing Collectors Society Foundation received a $10,000 Legacy grant for Red Wing Pottery Historic Kiln Restoration.

Houston County

  • Lanesboro Barn Dance received a $4,520 Small Towns/Rural Areas grant for 2023 Barn Dance Series.

  • Great River Shakespeare Festival received a $10,000 Legacy grant for Shakespeare for Young People Classes.
  • Mid West Music Fest received a $10,000 Legacy grant for Music Festival Expenses 2023.
  • Saint Mary’s University Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts received a $10,000 Legacy grant for Celebrating 50 Years of Artistry & Community.
  • Theatre du Mississippi received a $5,000 Programming grant for Original Play Competition.
  • Winona ORC Industries received a $5,000 Legacy grant for Showing Off Our Colors.

On August 16, 2021, the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council (SEMAC) awarded fifteen individual artist grants for a total of $59,000 in funding to applicants throughout southeastern Minnesota.  This included eight grants to emerging artists for $24,000, and seven grants to advancing artists for $35,000.

  • Cheryl Finnegan received a $5,000 Advancing Artist Grant for Individuals from Pine Island, Minnesota.

  • Joseph Alexander received a $3,000 Emerging Artist Grant for The Grand Drag Legacy of SE Minnesota.
  • Terri Allred received a $3,000 Emerging Artist Grant for Transformation through Transitions.
  • Michael Anderson received a $3,000 Emerging Artist Grant for Surrender: Paint on Canvas.
  • Rachel Brokenicky received a $5,000 Advancing Artist Grant for Illustration of a Children’s Book.

Winona County

  • Joy Davis Ripley received a $5,000 Advancing Artist Grant for Un/Masking: Portraits of Mental Health.
  • Sharon Mansur received a $5,000 Advancing Artist Grant for Tracings.
  • John Paulson received a $5,000 Advancing Artist Grant for 10th Anniversary Big Band Jazz Concerts.

On April 19, 2022, the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council (SEMAC) awarded 37 arts programming grants for a total of $244,820 in funding to applicants throughout southeastern Minnesota. This included 23 Legacy grants for $184,850, four Programming Grants for $18,425, eight Small Towns/Rural Areas grants for $39,860, one School Residency grant for $1,185, one General Operating Support grant for $5,000, and one Opportunity grant for $500.

  • Red Wing Innovation Incubator received a $5,000 Legacy grant for River Town Arts Festival.
  • Sheldon Theatre of Performing Arts received a $10,000 Legacy grant for Community Performance Residencies 2022-2023 Season.
