These grants support activities directly involved in the creation, performance, publication, and exhibition of the arts in Southeastern Minnesota. Three distinct funding categories are defined as follows.
- Presenter Assistance - helps sponsor appearances by touring artists or companies who demonstrate a high level of artistic quality. Educational institutions, including public and non-religious private schools, are invited to apply for Presenter Assistance either separately or in collaboration with qualified arts organizations. Funds cannot be used for local productions or school residencies.
- Arts Production Projects - must develop an art form, or promote the artistic growth of artists associated with arts organizations. The project may be a single activity, a sequence of closely related activities, or an exhibition curated by the applicant.
- Administrative Support Projects - promotes artistic growth through administrative development of arts organizations. The end result is increased resources to support arts-producing activities, e.g., developing administrative or fiscal capabilities, new resources for arts producers, or planning and research.
Presenter/Production Assistance grants are offered twice a year to qualified arts organizations and, in the case of Presenter Assistance, to educational institutions as noted above.
